2015 Naloxone Conference

The BHA Naloxone Conference took place on September 2, 2015 from 8:30-3:30 PM at NIDA Intramural Research Center in Baltimore, bringing together people that are conducting overdose education and naloxone distribution from all corners of the state. Attendees included local health departments, opioid maintenance treatment providers, law enforcement, community based organizations, and some health care providers. The goal of the conference was to share program updates including detailed information on the new law that allows for standing orders, as well as to inform people of different naloxone training and distribution models such as street outreach. Attendees gained a better understanding of different purchasing models for naloxone and the latest cutting-edge research. Attendees left feeling inspired to expand their naloxone programs this next year using these new tools.
